Legislative Day. On March 15-16, 2011 you and your association's leadership are invited to participate in our Pharmacy Legislative Day visit and Health Fair at Florida's Capitol in Tallahassee. This event will cover important pharmacy issues and address ways for you to get involved in the legislative process. Participants will have an opportunity to visit with their state representatives and senators to discuss relevant pharmacy issues. We strongly encourage each unit association to send at least one representative to to participate in this advocacy effort. Unit Association Award - Now More Ways to Win! The FPA will be offering a Unit Association Award for those local organizations who are actively invlved in their communities. Instead of just one overall award going to the best all around unit, unit associations may achieve recognition in one of six different categories. The six categories include: community service, continuing education programming, membership, public relations, legislative involvement, and FPA involvement. Each unit association may apply in just one category, or in as many categories as they wish. Updated application forms will be available from FPA. Every unit association is encouraged to apply in at least one category. Upcoming Deadlines & Events

![]() Message from the Vice-Speaker - I am very excited to serve you this year as the Vice Speaker and to serve as your liaison to the Florida Pharmacy Association. The future of the Pharmacy profession depends on the involvement of pharmacists across the state in the FPA and the unit associations. It is input from our members that guides the FPA as we work to protect and improve Pharmacy in Florida. This is accomplished through the creation of resolution as the local level that are brought to the FPA annual meeting and I will serve as a resource to your association in the development of these important resolutions. I will also serve as a resource for anything you and your unit association may need through out the year. I am looking forward to a very exciting year. I look forward to working with all of the Units for the remainder of the year. Professionally Yours, Suzy Wise, Speaker Elect |
