In Memoriam of "Stuey"

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we inform everyone in the Pharmacy Family of the passing of Stuart M. Ulrich. He was affectionately known by many as “Stu” or “Stuey” and passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019.  He had been a valued, active, & dedicated member for over 20 years of the Florida Pharmacy Association, Florida Society of Health System Pharmacists and American Pharmacists Association.

Stuey attended each of their annual meetings, not only as a pharmacist, or a local delegate, but as a photographer with the many cameras hanging around his shoulders, with his camera bag in tow. He had the special ability to make people laugh and feel good not only for the camera, but in life itself.

Stuey was an active member of the Palm Beach County Pharmacy Association for over 20 years. Stuey rarely missed a monthly meeting, even during his ill health, often carpooling with members so he could attend. He served as a Palm Beach County Pharmacy Association Delegate for many years at the FPA annual convention, as well as serving on the FPA Journal Board of Directors for a number of years.

Stuey was Secretary for the Palm Beach Regional Society and was very active within their region. He attended every FSHP Regional Officers Workshop until his ill health prevented him from doing so. Even during that time, Stuey demonstrated concern and dedication to the associations that he cared for so much and his took his responsibilities seriously. He always let others know that he was there for all of us if needed.

His spirit was like none other, exhibiting a deep love for his profession and people. He was a wonderful, kindhearted person who would befriend anyone he met.

He had a clever knack for being able to tell you the day of the week you were born, should you supply him with the date and year. Stuey was fond of remembering people on their birthdays, anniversaries, & holidays with cards and best wishes and sending postcards from places he and his wife visited, especially Boston.

He loved the lost art of writing letters and sending personal notes. For those who received them, they will always bring great memories of him.

Whether you knew him for a year, a career, or a lifetime, Stuey will be missed. Please keep his wife and family in your thoughts and prayers.
